Fairfield JKB Events
Fairfield JKB is very busy right now. The students have completed a few projects with several more in progress. Here our some of this year's activities:
On Decmber 13, Seniors Allison Stepp, David Brodsky, Jessi Grimes, and Sean Crowe along with juniors Sarah Kendall, Jon Hylandm, and Sadie Schwarz went to Fairfield Middle School to work with gym classes on leadership skills. The alumni led the students through ice-breaking activites and then through more complex, challenging initiatives. The alumni conluded each period by sitting the students down and discussing problems and frustrations they had faced and how they could work together to overcome them. The alumni plan to meet with the gym classes once each quarter.
JKB alumni are planning to work with Fairfield Intermediate intramural volleyball program. The alumni will help run drills and build confidence.
Two of the JKB alumni serve on the Fairfield Drug Coalition as student representatives.
One of the alumni works with the Central Elementary students in conjunction with the Joe Nuchall Character Program.
December 22, the alumni met with the Fairfield Middle School wrestling team. The alumn led the boys in leadership games and afterwards talked about teamwork and dealing with failure.
