Fall and Winter Drug Awareness Nights
The JKB student athletes spoke to the parents and athletes at the Drug Awareness nights before each season. The JKB students spoke about making positive choices. They gave a student athlete perspective on the code of conduct. They also discussed the responsibility of representing their school, community, team, and family in a positive light.

SWSC Leadership Conference
The JKB students from Sandburg High School held a leadership conference for members of the SouthWest Suburban Conference. One student athlete from each sport at the participating schools was invited. Around 225 sophomore students participated in the conference. It was the 3rd year the conference was held. There were large group presentations and small group breakout sessions with members of the same sport. This was the first year we asked the schools within the conference to bring sophomores. The hope is that the sophomores will take what they learned from the conference and change their schools and sports for the next two and a half years. It was a successful day with many new skills being learned and friendships being formed among students within the same sports.
