The Year In Review...
We had a great year at GBS!
Here is just a listing of some of the major activites that we were involved with this year:
- Gym Jam: we sponsored both fall and spring "Gym Jam" events at school this year, both with huge success! With the gracious assistance of our Athletic, P.E., and Student Activities offices, we opened up our field house to the student body, and raised nearly $5,000 for charity! These evenings offered a great opportunity to build on our leadership skills and extend our work into the community. Gym Jam has become a tradition at GBS, one that JKB students are proud to be a part of!
- Captain's Breakfast: each fall, the JKB students host a morning event for selected leaders in the school. These leaders are nominated by their coaches and peers, and attend a mini-assembly throughout the morning. In addition to offering breakfast treats, the JKB students lead small groups of athletes through activities geared to help them think about thier roles as leaders in the school. This event is a fantastic opportunity for us to share what we learned at the ranch with the rest of the school.
The GBS JKB Board would like to extend our thanks and congratulations to our graduating seniors: Daniella Cubelic, Annie Yonover, Nate Beasley and Joe Tracy. Without their focus and determination, we would not be where we are today. We will miss them, and wish them luck wherever their paths may lead.
We would also like to extend our thanks to our current juniors: Taylor Lauesen, Aurea Mujica, Ben Hengels, and Mike Schroeder. We expect big things of them as seniors and know they have the vision and determination to accomplish their goals!
After a lengthy selection process, we are proud to announce our sophomore inductees: Kelly Brait, Annie O'Gara, Mike Hirsch, and Peter Riley. This is an enthusiastic group of sophomores who are looking forward to attending the ranch and fufilling their role as leaders in the building. Congratulations, and have fun this summer at the ranch! A huge thank-you also goes out to our chief financial supporter, Mr. Jones, whithout whose help these students might not attend the ranch. Thank you for realizing the potential of our kids and committing yourself to the continued excellence of our community!
We will make every effort to update this site regularly with pictures of the above events and to inform the public of any new things going on with JKB at GBS. We are thrilled to be a part of such a stellar organization, and look forward to many more years of leadership!
